Hey guys,

This is a really random question, but I am working on a project. I was hoping to somehow obtain footage preferably of mice in a lab setting. I would like to take a clip of the footage, distort it, and play it repeatedly as part of a media/sculpture piece. Does anyone have any idea how I could get footage that is not copy written? Or maybe if it is from a group that just wants to get the word out, then they wouldn't care...OR maybe if I "make it my own" enough, then it wouldn't matter. Anyways, I'm not famous, so I wouldn't think it would be that big of a deal. My project is due on Dec. 2nd.

I can't remember if Earthlings has footage of mice, but if it does, then I don't think they'd mind. You could write them and e-mail, though. Just in case, but I don' think it's that big a deal.

There's a Brazilian documentary about animal experimentation by Instituto Nina Rosa called Não Matarás (Thou Shall Not Kill). I haven't seen it (and don't think I can at this point in time), but the cover and promotional poster has a "lab" rat on it. You could try that.

That was actually somewhat helpful! I may end up having a connection with the Earthlings crew because I am trying to get the film maker to do a screening at my school. Maybe after the fact, he would not mind? Dream big, I say.
