From reading and rereading the text of laws such as the Animal Welfare Act and the Humane Slaughter Act, and reading some of the proposals out there, and reviewing how much discussion and maneuvering every piece of legislation/regulation takes, I'm convinced it's a royal waste of time.
The system cannot be used against the system. We are the system so long as we use the system, even if against the system which is designed to fail -- by the system. A problem cannot be solved by the methods which caused it. Why is all this such a surprise?
